The fall is a great time of the year for some downtime, reflection, and quite simply – the opportunity to focus on yourself! There’s no better way to do this than by immersing yourself in the sport while in the company of amazing women who share a similar passion.

Join me on this getaway weekend to experience the scenic trails of Blue Mountain and its surroundings. The retreat will focus on trail running technique and skills, injury prevention, training considerations, gear, nutrition and more. It also offers the opportunity to share in the joy of running together, to empower each other and to have a fun, relaxing experience. You will leave feeling renewed and inspired!

Runners of all levels are welcomed; only requirement is the ability to run 8km. Running sessions will be varied and will include drills, techniques and leisure runs (in other words, we can accommodate different paces and levels).

WHEN: Friday, October 21 (afternoon) to Sunday, October 23(wraps up late morning)

WHERE: Tyrolean Chalets, Blue Mountain, Collingwood, Ontario

WHAT YOU GET:

  • 2-night accommodations (shared room in large chalet)
  • 5 healthy and savoury meals including catered supper (Friday) and dinner in the village (Saturday)

  • Expert advice (with some guest speakers) on how to:
    • Refine your running technique: uphill/downhill, obstacles, ultra marathons
    • Better pace yourself on the runs
    • Tailor your training to help you get more efficient, fitter and faster
    • Integrate different types of runs into your training schedule
    • Feed your body – nutrition/ hydration
    • Prevent and manage injuries
    • Strength train for trail runners

And all participants will have the chance to receive great stuff from Salomon, Altra and Endurance Tap!

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:

Friday:

  • Optional leisure run mid afternoon
  • Official check in 4-6pm
  • 6PM onwards: Meet & Greet, catered supper, discussion and video

Saturday:

  • Breakfast
  • Session #1
  • Run#1
  • Lunch
  • Session #2:
  • Run #2 (or option for a hike or downtime)
  • Dinner in the village

Sunday:

  • Run #4: option for early morning run in the dark!
  • Breakfast
  • Session #3: injury prevention and management, taping technique
  • Run #4
  • Wrap up and check out by 1pm.

Sessions subject to change: guest speakers to include physiotherapist Laura McIntyre (focusing on injury prevention and taping techniques)
